Vigilante 8: Arcade is the third installment in the Vigilante 8 vehicular combat series. This title was created by Isopod Labs, and was published by Activision; Luxoflux had no part in the creation of the game. It was released for Xbox LIVE download in 2008, and is currently available to purchase for $4.99 (NA). Vigilante 8: Arcade is technically a remake of the original title for the ten-year anniversary of the release of Vigilante 8.
Plot[]
Since Vigilante 8: Arcade is a remake of the original Vigilante 8, the plots of the two games are almost identical, the only difference is the way the plots are told. In Vigilante 8: Arcade, an unnamed oil company (OMAR) has paid Sid Burn $100 million to cause havoc across the United States. Convoy, upon noticing the sudden destruction, forms the Vigilantes to get rid of Sid Burn and his band of Coyotes forever.
Gameplay[]
The gameplay in Vigilante 8: Arcade is similar to both Vigilante and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, except for the execution of attacks and a new system called Charge Attacks. However, many options were cut out of Vigilante 8: Arcade that were present in the original title and its successor, including Hot Rod appearance, Custom Paint, roster size, number of levels, Survival Mode, and Cheat Codes. Although, it does include a new feature called Charge Attacks, Achievements, a new use for Salvage Points, DLC, online capabilities, Free Wheelin' Mode, and a remixed soundtrack from the Playstation version of Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense.
