The Random Weapon Crate as it appears in V8: 2nd Offense.
The Random Weapon Crate is a brown crate with a question mark imprinted on it. The Crate made its debut in Vigilante 8. When equipped, the player will randomly receive a weapon available from the game. They are found scattered around each of the stages in Vigilante 8 (except Casino City) and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense. If the player already has the maximum amount of weapons, depending on the weapon acquired, the Random Weapon Crate will switch the currently selected weapon and replace it with a new weapon. If the weapon acquired from the Random Weapon Crate is one of the same weapons you already have, you simply receive more ammo.

- The Random Weapon Crate does not make an appearance in Vigilante 8: Arcade.
- In Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, there seems to be a minor bug where the Bull's Eye Rockets is never received from this Crate; It spawns without the Crate instead. The Secret Base's hangar with two Random Weapon Crates inside is the only exception, where you can actually receive a Bull's Eye Rocket, because the script forces them to spawn as a Crate, and only once per battle.
- Despite the name, CPUs will always receive their Special Weapon first from the Random Weapon Crate.
