Quest Item

The Quest Item is a collectible item required to complete objectives during Quest Mode in Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense. These items vary between briefcases, bombs, supply boxes, and fuel cans.

Vigilante:[]

Quest Items collected in Vigilante missions are usually collected to assist the general public. Briefcases are normally collected to deliver to certain buildings for a number of reasons. Bombs are collected simply to dispose of or to deactivate Coyote booby traps. Supply boxes are collected for needed supplies, while fuel cans are never collected in Vigilante missions.

Coyote:[]

Quest Items collected in Coyote missions are usually collected to cause destruction or to fund themselves with high-tech weapons. Briefcases are collected, as stated before, to fund themselves with high-tech weapons. Bombs are collected to plant in certain places to wait for inevitable destruction. Supply boxes are collected for needed supplies, and fuel cans are collected to spill around refineries and other buildings.

Drifter:

Quest Items collected in Drifter missions are usually collected for their own purposes and desires, what they are, however, is unknown. Briefcases are never collected in Drifter missions. Bombs are collected to add to their weapon supplies. Supply boxes are collected for needed supplies, and fuel cans are collected for extra fuel.

Trivia[]

Both the player and the CPUs can carry Quest Items in Quest Mode. To acquire them from enemies, one must destroy them first.
Certain objectives will require the player to deliver the Quest Items in that stage to a specific building in the stage. To do so, simply drive near the instructed building, switch to the Quest Items in the weapon select screen, and hit the trigger button.
If the player is required to deliver a Quest Item and hasn't done so after the final enemy has been destroyed, the game will allow time for the player to deliver those Quest Items (Only if the player has one or more of the Quest Items in their inventory).
