Dave is a fictional character in the vehicle action series Vigilante 8.
Overview[]
Dave is a hippie who believes aliens are real and are mankind's friends. He spends almost every night trying to establish contact with them but is typically unsuccessful. He fights for the side of the Vigilantes, but does not appear to be directly affiliated with them. According to Y the Alien's quest, Dave had actually come into contact with the alien, who informed Y about another alien that was being dissected by government officials in the Secret Base.
Ending[]

In his ending in V8, Dave is again unsuccessful in trying to make contact with aliens. Just as he is about to give up, he is sucked aboard a UFO and apparently wins the ship in a checkers match. What happened to him after that is unknown, but one can assume that he is still with them.
In his V8: Arcade ending, Dave defeats his opponent and tries to convince everyone that UFOs and alien life forms exist. Just as he finishes, lights start appearing in the sky, hinting at a UFO landing.

The Groovan, as it appears in Vigilante 8: Arcade.
In V8: Arcade, Dave drives the Groovan, a more modern styled vehicle than the Van that would typically be seen carrying a family of four. It has great acceleration, but low strength, contrasting the stats of his original vehicle.

Special Weapon[]
In V8 and V8: Arcade, Dave's Special Weapon is Invasion, a trio of UFOs that attack a nearby vehicle for decent damage (depending on the number of times each UFO hit the opponent). In Vigilante 8: Arcade, however, the UFOs surround the opponent and shoot lasers at them for a limited time instead of bumping into them.
