The Bruiser Cannon is a weapon that appears in each Vigilante 8 title. It is typically placed on the front-most top of the equipped vehicle. As long as this weapon is selected, the cannon will home in on any enemy vehicle currently targeted, regardless of position. It starts with twelve rounds and its damage output is considerably high. The Cannon's shots can also cause a slight knockback, even against the heaviest of vehicles.

| Fires a harmless blast that punches vehicles with enough force to send them rolling for a good distance. Does no direct damage, but it's great for pushing enemies over cliffs, into water or other hazardous obstacles. (In V8 & V8:2O, it does deal damage, but it deals less than a regular projectile). | Fires six shots simultaneously, causing massive damage if they all connect at the same time. Use this attack on non-moving vehicles for the best results; a great finisher for totaling a wrecked car. | Fires a shot that bounces around the area (In V8:2O, it penetrates structures, and vehicles, and will also bounce toward another vehicle. It will not bounce toward another vehicle if it hits the terrain. In V8: Arcade, it will bounce toward a vehicle regardless of where it landed. However, it deals no knockback). |
Trivia[]
- In Vigilante 8: Arcade, the Bruiser Cannon is the strongest collectible weapon (besides the Special Weapon) in the game.
- In Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, the Bruiser Cannon can target enemy vehicles from any direction, but can only target horizontally and in front in Vigilante 8: Arcade.
- In the dreamcast version of Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, the ricochet combo projectile hits a set number of times, and explodes on the final hit, or of course after a set amount of time has passed. However, how it functions in the other versions, is it will hit a set number of times before it no longer deals damage nor knockback, and eventually explodes on it's own after a set amount of time has passed.
- In Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8: 2nd Offense, the way the Bruiser Cannon's projectiles' moved when fired would be dependent on where the vehicle/weapon is moving, but in Vigilante 8: Arcade, it would be dependent on where the vehicle/weapon is rotating.
